-Newest Stop on Health Care Listening Tour-
Mt. Kisco, NY – Tomorrow morning, U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-Dover) will be walking down Main Street in Mount Kisco to drop into local businesses to meet with their owners, employees, and customers, as well as local residents, to discuss health care reform. Lowering the cost of care for small businesses and increasing their choices and access to coverage is one of Congressman Hall’s primary priorities when considering health care legislation. Congressman Hall will be joined by Janet Deane, Executive Director of the Mt. Kisco Chamber of Commerce, and Vince Lemma, the chamber's President.
This business walk is the newest leg of Congressman Hall's Health Care Listening Tour, which he has been conducting since May. The tour was launched with a series of round table discussions in May and June and has continued with public meetings and discussions. Congressman Hall has sought feedback from local residents, small business owners, patients, doctors, nurses and other medical profressionals.
"The success of small businesses is vital to the success of the Hudson Valley," said Congressman Hall. "This legislation is a step forward to that success. It's not perfect, and I'm looking for feedback in August so that when I return to Congress in September I can work to improve it further. However, it’s a strong dose of the medicine we need to help level the playing field for small businesses and reduce their health care costs."
