Hall Named Vice Chair of House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation
August 6, 2007
Washington, DC - House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman James Oberstar (D-MN) announced on August 2nd the appointment of U.S. Representative John Hall (D-NY19) to the post of Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation.

Oberstar said he made the choices based not on seniority as much as each Member's interest in the position and in the work of the Subcommittee.

"I chose Congressman Hall to become Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation, because I have been impressed by the leadership he has demonstrated in his first term in office," said Chairman Oberstar. "Rep. Hall has proven himself to be a hard-working and motivated member of the Full Committee, and I am looking forward to working with him on aviation and other transportation-related issues for many years to come."

"This is an exciting opportunity for me to take on another leadership role, this time on the Subcommittee on Aviation where I can continue my work increasing access and supporting smart growth at Stewart Airport," said Hall.

Hall also serves as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs and is a member of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.
