| Hall Announces Stimulus Funding has Saved Teacher Jobs in Orange County Schools |

- Funding Arrives Just in Time for Back-to-School -
Central Valley, NY – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-Dover) announced Tuesday that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has succeeded in saving and creating jobs across the Hudson Valley. He was joined by Monroe-Woodbury School District Superintendant Joseph DiLorenzo who is now able to say definitively that 45 jobs have been saved and 9 new positions created in the district as a direct result of the Recovery Act. Monroe-Woodbury School District is characteristic of the results that the Recovery Act has had in the Hudson Valley.
"With the beginning of the new school year just days away, I'm pleased to be able to say that students returning to class this fall will be able to see and learn from their favorite teachers, administrators, school monitors and teaching assistants," said Congressman Hall. "For our region, the prevention of teacher layoffs will also benefit the small businesses that they patronize, small businesses that are the backbone of our communities."
Congressman Hall is joined by Superintendant DiLorenzo and district faculty and staff to annouce jobs saved by the Recovery Act
"The Recovery money was instrumental in preserving teaching and support staff in the district and helping us to maintain our programs at a high level of academic excellence," said Superintendant DiLorenzo. "In addition, we were able to create new positions to help our neediest student and build capacity through professional development."
Paul Ellis Graham, who teaches social studies at Monroe-Woodbury High School, and serves as the 1st Vice President of the Monroe-Woodbury Teachers Association, was also on hand to thank the Congressman for preventing teacher layoffs and for preserving vital programs for the children of the Monroe-Woodbury School District.
